Lei Nie has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. They started their career in 2014 as a Language Instructor at Where There Be Dragons. In 2016, they worked as an Interaction Designer and Graphic Designer at George Brown College, where they participated in various projects involving UX research, prototyping, and wayfinding systems. Lei also worked independently as a Content Creator during this time.

In 2017, Lei began their freelance career as an Interaction Designer and Visual Designer, providing their services on a part-time basis until 2020. During this period, they worked on various projects, including developing and designing products for clients.

From 2019 to 2021, Lei worked at UNOapp as a UI/UX Designer. They were responsible for solving product problems with a human-centered approach, managing project timelines, and creating high-fidelity prototypes. Lei then joined Thentia Cloud in 2021 as a Product Designer.

In addition to their formal education, Lei Nie obtained a verified certificate in Anthropology of Current World Issues from edX in October 2020 and completed a course in Human-centered Design from Acumen in July 2017.
