Johan Åkesson

Johan Åkesson has a diverse work experience in the fashion industry. Johan started their career as a Designer/Pattern maker at Patrik Ervell Inc. in July 2011 and worked there until June 2012. Johan then joined Tim Coppens as a Senior Designer from May 2012 to November 2014. Following that, they worked at PUBLIC SCHOOL NYC as a Design Director from May 2015 to June 2018. Johan then became a Creative Consultant 205W39NYC at Calvin Klein in August 2018, and their tenure lasted until July 2019. Currently, they hold the position of Design Director at Theory, starting from July 2019.

Johan Åkesson's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Art History from Lund University, obtained from 2003 to 2004. Johan then pursued a Foundation Diploma in Fine Arts from the University of the Creative Art Maidstone, which they completed from 2005 to 2006. Johan furthered their education at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from 2006 to 2009. Lastly, they completed a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree with a specialization in the Fashion department at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp from 2009 to 2010.
