Sumit Gaur

Sumit Gaur has a diverse and extensive work experience in the fashion industry. Sumit currently holds the position of Vice President of Global Supply Chain at Theory since 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Helmut Lang as the Director of Production for Men's and Women's Collection, where they played a key role in restructuring the sourcing and production team. Sumit also oversaw the development and production of a new denim collection in Italy.

Before Helmut Lang, Sumit worked at Steven Alan, where they held the role of Vice President of Production and Design Operations. Sumit managed both men's and women's design and production teams, ensuring the timely delivery of cohesive collections within budget. Sumit also served as the Vice President of Production, where they focused on process efficiency, development calendars, sourcing infrastructure, and negotiations.

Sumit's earlier experience includes working at Theory as the Director of Men's Full Price/Off-Price/Full-Price Accessories Production, overseeing the development and launch of the off-price retail and wholesale business. Sumit also led production for the full-price accessory lines of Theory, Theyskens' Theory, and Helmut Lang. Sumit previously held roles as the Director of Overseas Production and a Production Coordinator at Theory.

Sumit'scareer began at Usha Gloebus, a family-owned clothing factory, where they held the position of VP of Product Management. Sumit was responsible for managing production, quality control, and a team of 15 people. Sumit executed garment orders for various department stores and specialty stores and headed the sampling division.

Sumit Gaur completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering from B. M. S. College of Engineering between 1994 and 1998. Later, between 2003 and 2004, Sumit pursued an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) in Fashion Merchandising from Parsons School of Design - The New School.
