Advit Shah has worked in the pharmacy industry since 2010. Advit began their career as a Pharmacist at Walmart, where they were responsible for fulfilling over 1200 prescriptions weekly and consulting with physicians and patients on medication dosage, drug interactions, disease management and potential side effects of prescription and OTC medications. In 2013, they became the Program Coordinator for the Pharmacy Technician Program at the Manitoba Institute of Trades & Technology (formerly Winnipeg Technical College). In this role, they met with teachers, Dean of College, program supervisor, and members of other healthcare disciplines to ensure education standards were maintained, and prepared and taught classes in Pharmacology, Compounding, Communication, and Ethics and Law to 48 students. In 2014, Advit Shah became the Pharmacy Manager at Sobeys Pharmacy, where they were responsible for the day-to-day operations of the dispensary and OTC area, managing staff, scheduling, and meeting goals and the needs of the public. Advit was able to increase prescription sales by 30% since starting at the store by focusing on team and community relationship building. In 2016, Advit Shah began working at Therigy as the Manager of Clinical Development and Implementations. In this role, they researched, developed, and created new therapeutic modules and corresponding business cases that provided evidence for the addition of new therapeutic categories into TherigySTM, a SaaS product utilized in specialty pharmacy to help manage patient medication outcomes. Advit also assisted customers with operational and clinical workflow design to integrate the product into their current streams and made suggestions to senior management when SOPs and policy and procedures needed to be addressed.
Advit Shah obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Microbiology, General from the University of Manitoba between 1997 and 2001. Advit then attended The University of Queensland in 2006 and subsequently obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Pharmacy from the University of Manitoba between 2006 and 2010. Additionally, Advit Shah has obtained certifications in Self-Care Specialist from PharmCon in October 2022, Strategic Thinking from LinkedIn in July 2019, and Preventing Harassment in the Workplace from LinkedIn in June 2019.
