Cedric Yao Alvaro

Cedric Yao Alvaro has a diverse range of work experience in the field of DevOps engineering. Cedric Yao began their career as a Summer Intern at Azeus Systems Limited in 2017. In 2018, they worked as a Developer at the University of the Philippines Mindanao. Later that year, they joined AWS Philippines as a Junior Research and Development Engineer, where they underwent training and gained experience in web app development and started learning DevOps.

In 2019, Cedric became a Technical Lead at Hayahay! and began taking on leadership responsibilities. Cedric Yao then joined Therma° in 2021 as a DevOps Engineer. Cedric Yao created technical documents, optimized deployment processes, and developed internal APIs and slack bots to automate tasks for various teams. Cedric Yao used Bitbucket Pipelines for CI/CD and was responsible for monitoring resources using Kubernetes, Prometheus, ELK, and Grafana.

In 2022, Cedric was promoted to Senior DevOps Engineer I at Therma°, where they continued to use Kubernetes for managing dev, staging, and production resources. Cedric Yao also implemented RabbitMQ and Chirpstack for server functionality. Additionally, they utilized tools like FluxCD, ArgoCD, and PagerDuty for efficient deployment processes and critical issue alerting.

Throughout their career, Cedric has demonstrated their expertise in DevOps engineering and consistently seeks opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge in this field.

Cedric Yao Alvaro obtained their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of the Philippines, where they studied from 2014 to 2018. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained additional certifications, including the Jinja2 Basics (Mini Course) and Lens - Kubernetes IDE from KodeKloud, the Go (Basic) Certificate and Python (Basic) Certificate from HackerRank, the Fundamental Information Technology Engineers (FE) Certification from the Philippine National IT Standards Organization, and the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
