Cory Grube

Control systems Project Engineer II at Thermo Systems

Cory Grube has a diverse range of work experience in the field of control systems engineering. Cory started their career at Penn State Department of Mathematics as a Summer Research Intern, where they focused on generating approximate solutions to differential equations using the Finite Element Method. Cory then moved on to Dow Corning as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, where they devised and implemented a plan to improve production time and drafted material specifications for a new product.

Cory then joined Thermo Systems as a Control Systems Engineer, where they designed SCADA systems and HMI displays for various applications. Cory also performed on-site startup activities and wrote and modified RSLogix PLC programs. At Thermo Systems, they were promoted to Lead Control Systems Engineer, taking on additional responsibilities such as scheduling, design, and coordination.

After leaving Thermo Systems, Cory worked at Sugaright (Division of CSC Sugar) as a Process & Controls Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for control systems across multiple sugar refineries and developed SCADA/programming standards. Cory also designed and executed new control system projects.

Cory then joined EZSoft, Inc. as an Automation Engineer for a short period, where they focused on automation. Currently, Cory is working at Thermo Systems as a Control Systems Project Engineer, where they are involved in projects as a Project Engineer II.

Overall, Cory has gained experience in various aspects of control systems engineering, including design, programming, SCADA, startup/commissioning, project management, and process improvement.

Cory Grube received a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University, completing their education from 2011 to 2015. In addition to their degree, Cory has obtained several certifications including Ignition v8.1 IU Gold Certification, Ignition v8.0 IU Core Certification, Ignition v8.0 IU Credential, AutoCAD Electrical Essential Training, Learning AutoCAD 2020, OSHA 10 Hour Outreach Training Program - Construction, Engineer in Training, NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Training, and MSHA Part 48 Surface Mining. The certifications were obtained from various institutions, including Inductive Automation, LinkedIn, International Association for Continuing Education & Training (IACET), Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, NFPA, and the U.S. Department of Labor.
