Environmental Permitting Project Manager at Theta Gold Mines

Suzette Hartzer-Marais has been working in the legal and environmental consulting industry since 2007. Suzette began their career as a Legal Adviser at Cullinan Diamond Mine, before moving to Vanchem Vanadium Products in 2009, where they worked as Company Secretary and Legal Adviser. In 2011, they joined Digby Wells Environmental as a Mining and Environmental Legal Consultant. In 2016, they moved to Shangoni Management Services (Pty) Ltd, where they continued to work as an Environmental Legal Consultant. Most recently, in 2021, they began working as an Environmental Permitting Project Manager at Theta Gold Mines Limited.

Suzette Hartzer-Marais obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from North-West University / Noordwes-Universiteit between 2001 and 2004. Suzette then completed a Master of Laws (LLM) in Environmental Law and Governance at the same institution between 2007 and 2009. Additionally, they attended Hoerskool Voortrekker. In 2008, they were certified as an Attorney by the Law Society of South Africa.
