Jay Roldan has a wealth of work experience in the field of robotics and biomedical engineering. Jay began their career in 2002 as a Biomedical Engineering Technician for the USAF. In 2006, they moved on to CACI as a Biomedical Engineering Technician and then to Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in 2008. That same year, they started at the University of California, Santa Cruz as a Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant, and Graduate Student Instructor. In 2011, they became a Research Assistant at the Naval Postgraduate School and in 2012 they became a Graduate Student Researcher at the NASA Ames Research Center. In 2013, they joined THINK Surgical as a Robotics Engineer, eventually becoming the Lead Engineer, Robotics Software and Senior Robotics Engineer. In 2014, they became Co-Founder of Reflex Robotics, Inc.
Jay Roldan has been pursuing higher education since 1998. Jay attended the University of the Philippines Visayas from 1998 to 2001, where they studied Computer Science. From 2002 to 2003, they completed a Certificate in Biomedical Equipment Apprentice at the United States Air Force. Jay then returned to the University of California, Santa Cruz and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering - Robotics and Control from 2008 to 2011. Jay later obtained a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Robotics and Control from the same university, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Engineering with emphasis in Robotics and Control.
