Tejas Mhetre has been working as a Mechanical Engineer since 2015. Tejas began their career at National Organic Chemical Industries Ltd (NOCIL), where they assisted in Mechanical design of Shell & Tube heat exchangers, Pressure vessels, and columns as per ASME, ANSI, API and IS guidelines. Tejas also led a team of 3-5 people to support daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of equipment using Preventive, Predictive maintenance and Root cause Analysis. In 2017, they became a Research Assistant at The University of Texas at Arlington, where they researched, reviewed and developed engineering data (drawings, reports, and material) in support of design work. Tejas also developed 3D CAD models using SolidWorks and conducted FEA analysis on ANSYS and optimized designs based on results. In 2019, they joined Formosa Plastics Group as a Mechanical Engineer, where they reviewed, interpreted, and approved bid packages, engineering drawings, design calculations and specifications for Mechanical equipment and Piping for B1/B2 projects. Tejas also assisted the Lead Engineer to design, install and service mechanical equipment, component and tools for assigned project as per company guidelines and procedure. Currently, Tejas is working at THINK Surgical, where they contribute to the design and manufacture of new medical devices, including all phases of the product development cycle through stages of concept, prototyping, and production release. Tejas also releases design, specification, configuration, and procedural documents and related bill of material, and analyzes robot design features with the implementation of the production process improvements.
Tejas Mhetre received their High School degree from Sainik School Satara in 2011. Tejas then went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mumbai in 2015. After that, they obtained a Post Graduation Diploma in Piping Design and Engineering as per ASME B 31.3 from IPEBS in 2015. Finally, they completed their Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2018.
