Joe Tojek has a long and varied career in the technology and consulting industries. Joe began their career in 1995 as the Director of Interactive Technologies at Cybertoons Digital, where they established web development capability and led software and graphics teams. In 2000, they became Learning Environment Project Manager at Sylvan Learning - eSylvan startup, where they developed a real-time whiteboard learning environment with voice over IP and custom learning management system for math and reading instruction. In 2003, they were Director of Technology Services - Web and Applications Development at Laureate International Universities. From 2013 to 2018, Joe was IT Knowledge & Learning Portfolio Leader at UnitedHealth Group (Optum), where they grew the cloud commercial learning portfolio to 2 million budget and developed effective technical writing and training initiatives. In 2019, Joe founded Joe Tojek Consulting, where they served as an Online learning user experience architect and development consultant. Most recently, Joe has been a Management Consultant at Think since 2020, where they advise, coaches, collaborates, and designs transformative but achievable ways forward for clients in various industries.

Joe Tojek has a long history of education and certifications. Joe obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1987. Joe then went on to earn a Master of Science (M.S.) in Curriculum and Instruction from the same university in 1991. Finally, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2000. In addition to their degrees, Joe Tojek also holds three certifications. Joe obtained a Foundations of Corporate Training certification from LinkedIn in May 2020, a Javascript programming certification from Brainbench Technology Certification in June 2012, and an HTML5 certification from Brainbench Technology Certification in January 2012.
