Willem Westra

Willem Westra has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Willem is currently the Vice President of Business Development at ThinkCyte since December 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Director of Business Development (USA) at Oxford BioDynamics Plc from June 2017 to December 2021. Willem also worked as a Business Development Manager at Genedata AG from June 2013 to June 2017 and as a Project Lead at Selventa from November 2009 to May 2013. Westra has also gained experience as an Analyst at BCC Research from April 2009 to January 2012 and as a Consultant at TPR - Technology & Patent Research from January 2008 to March 2009. Willem started their career as a Graduate Student at the University of California at San Diego from September 2003 to December 2008, where they made significant contributions to the field of genomics. Before that, Westra worked as a Ski Instructor at Squaw Valley Ski Corp from October 2002 to March 2003 and as a Public Relations Intern at Atkins + Associates from May 2001 to October 2001.

Willem Westra received a B.S. degree in Pharmacological Chemistry from UC San Diego from 1998 to 2002. Willem then pursued further education at the same university, earning a Ph.D. in Biomedical Science from 2003 to 2008.
