Marcia Iwasaki is an experienced consultant and mentor in public art, currently working with Calgary Arts Development to guide eight artists in creating socially engaged public artwork. Marcia has held various roles including Public Art Manager for Third Way Creative in Ottawa, where a training program for underrepresented emerging artists was developed, and for the City of Redmond Arts and Culture Commission, organizing workshops aimed at translating studio artwork into public art. With a lengthy tenure as a Public Art Project Manager for the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, Marcia's early career includes a role as Assistant Developer at the Boston Children's Museum and co-founding the Boston Dragon Boat Festival. Marcia's educational background features a degree in Art Education from the University of Oregon and participation in the Leadership Tomorrow program.
