Jerry McCauley M.D., Mph

Jerry McCauley MD MPH currently serves as the Past President of the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) and the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), a role held since July 2021, and formerly held the position of President from July 2022 to September 2023. Additionally, Jerry McCauley is the Medical Director of Transplantation Services at Thomas Jefferson Health System and Vice Chairman of Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at Jefferson Medical College. Jerry McCauley has a strong background in nephrology as the Chief of the Division of Nephrology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals. Prior academic roles include serving as a Professor and Director of Transplantation Nephrology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine from Dartmouth Medical School, a Master's Degree in Health Policy/Epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health, and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Dartmouth College.
