Matt Safern has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as an Intern at Merrill Lynch in 2009, where they contributed to a 401(k) project proposal. In 2010, they interned at ProOrbis LLC, where they managed billing and accounting for a NASA project and worked on various tasks including research, financial analysis, and administrative duties. From 2011 to 2012, they worked as a Staff Consultant at McBee Associates. In 2012, they joined Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System as a Reimbursement Analyst, later becoming a Financial Analyst in the Department of Medicine. Since 2016, they have been associated with Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, starting as an Associate Director and later became the Director and now the Senior Director of JMG Clinical Practice Analytics.
Matt Safern completed their Bachelor's degree in Finance at Penn State University from 2007 to 2011. Matt then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance, General at Drexel University's LeBow College of Business from 2012 to 2016. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Population Health at Thomas Jefferson University, which started in 2019 and is expected to be completed in 2024.
