Tara Hayden

Tara Hayden has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Their most recent position was as the Vice President Community Health Equity at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, which they have held since August 2021. Prior to this, they had various roles at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, including Associate Director of Geriatric Education and Research from November 2019 to July 2021, Deputy Director from 2016 to 2019, Project Director and Co-Investigator from 2014 to 2019, and Associate Director of Community-Based and Health Disparities Research from 2012 to 2017.

Before their time at the University of Pennsylvania, Tara held the position of Co-Director at the Philadelphia Collaborative Violence Prevention Center from 2006 to 2011. Tara also served as Assistant Director at the Penn-Cheyney Center of Excellence for Inner City Health, University of Pennsylvania from 2003 to 2009. Prior to that, they worked as a Program and Human Resource Administrator at Wordsworth Residential Treatment Facility from 2000 to 2002, and as an Account Manager and Area Network Manager at Magellan Behavioral Care from 1996 to 1998.

Tara's earlier work experience includes roles as an Associate Director of Network Development at American Psych Management from 1991 to 1992, and as a Senior Associate at GLS ASSOCIATES LTD from 1985 to 1991. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated leadership skills, fiscal management abilities, and expertise in community-based research and healthcare program development.

Tara Hayden holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, Cum Laude, in Psychology and Sociology from Brandeis University. Tara has also obtained a Master's degree in Health Services Administration (MHSA) with a focus on Health Planning and Administration/Health Management and Policy from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Additionally, they hold another MHSA degree from the same institution with a concentration in Health/Health Care Administration/Management.
