Joris Koomen is an experienced combustion engineer currently serving as the Manager of Combustion Engineering at Thomassen Energy BV since July 2019. Prior to this role, Joris held the position of Product Manager Burners at Stork, a Fluor company, from September 2017 to June 2019. Joris's career began at Stork Thermeq, where the role evolved from Engineer R&D to Combustion Engineer, contributing to a collaborative project with the University of Cambridge and Twente University focused on enhancing emission predictions in industrial boiler processes. Earlier experience includes an internship as a Combustion Engineer at Corus, exploring efficient combustion in reheating furnaces. Joris holds a Master’s degree in Thermal Engineering from the University of Twente, earned between 2003 and 2009.
