Emily Pistell

Emily Pistell is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in talent management and outdoor education. Currently serving as the Talent and Engagement Manager at Thompson Island Outward Bound since January 2018, Emily designs and facilitates onboarding programs while optimizing employee engagement initiatives with a focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Previously, as a Lead Instructor at The Outdoor Education Group, Emily received the “Educator of the Year” award and led backcountry expeditions in Australia. Emily's earlier roles include Course Director at Thompson Island Outward Bound, Outdoor Educator at Manice Education Center, and various positions at Greenpeace, where responsibilities included administrative and operational tasks. Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Justice Studies from Tufts University and has contributed to conservation research in Brazil.
