JJ Lay, PhD, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in data engineering and business intelligence. Currently serving as Senior Data Engineering Manager at Thompson Machinery since August 1996, JJ Lay leads quantum computing initiatives and champions the implementation of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) software to enhance process efficiency. Previous roles include Business Intelligence Manager, where JJ Lay collaborated with the executive team to define critical metrics and oversaw a team focused on dashboard and report development. Additionally, JJ Lay has served as a 6 Sigma Master Black Belt, IT Manager, and consultant for various companies, showcasing a strong background in IT infrastructure, application development, and training. Education includes a PhD in Computational Science from Middle Tennessee State University, along with a B.S. in Computer Science/Mathematics and an A.S. in General Science from the same institution and Roane State Community College, respectively.
