Bettina Peters is a Senior Development Consultant at Thomson Foundation, involved in advising on media development projects and policies since October 2012, while also serving as Development Director upon joining the organization. With extensive experience in media assistance, Peters was the Director of the Global Forum for Media Development from July 2007 to October 2012, overseeing strategies and financial management. Prior roles include Director of Programmes at the European Journalism Centre, where Peters led significant journalism training initiatives from January 2002 to June 2007, and Director of Project Division at the International Federation of Journalists, which was established under Peters' leadership in 1998. Peters began a career in academia as a research assistant at Universität Hamburg’s Department of Political Science from 1988 to 1990. Educational accomplishments include a Masters in Political Science and Journalism from the University of Hamburg, in addition to a Baccalaureate from Charlotte Paulsen Gymnasium Hamburg.
