Meriem Bahri serves as the Middle East & Africa Programme Manager at Thomson Foundation since December 2022, where responsibilities include developing regional strategies, managing a portfolio of projects supporting media and civil society, and enhancing resilience against disinformation. Previously, at Internews Europe from July 2019 to August 2022, Meriem held roles progressing from Programme Associate to Senior Programme Officer, managing multi-million dollar regional portfolios aimed at strengthening independent media in conflict zones. Academic credentials include an MA in International Relations from the University of Bath and dual Agrégation degrees in English Language and Literature from both École Normale Supérieure de Tunis and faculté des lettres et sciences humaines de la manouba, complemented by teaching experience in literature and media analysis at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Sousse. Early career includes project management and interpretation roles at BBC Media Action, focusing on capacity-building for media professionals in the MENA region.
