Caitlin Akier is an experienced Speech Language Pathologist currently working as an AAC Evaluator at Chicago Public Schools since August 2014 and as an on-call therapist with Vital Rehabilitation at Thorek Memorial Hospital since December 2014. With previous roles at Genesis HealthCare, Tricare Rehabilitation Services, and RehabCare, Caitlin has specialized in treating elderly adults with dysphagia, speech, language, and cognitive disorders across various facilities in the Chicagoland area. Additional experience includes graduate externships at Portage Public Schools and Kindred Hospital Indianapolis South, focusing on working with school-age students and adult patients with complex needs. Caitlin obtained a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Indiana University Bloomington and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Biology from Grand Valley State University.
