Peter Thorns has a robust background in lighting and standards, currently serving as Vice President of Standards for the International Commission on Illumination since September 2023 and previously as Division Director for CIE Division 3 from 2019 to 2023. Thorns holds a position as Associate Editor for "Lighting Research and Technology" with CIBSE since January 2019 and chairs the ISO/TC 274 committee on Light and Lighting since January 2022. Additionally, Thorns has been convenor of CEN TC 169, working on the EN12665 standard, and is actively involved in various working groups within both LightingEurope and CEN.
