Brandon Rioja has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Brandon is currently employed at Thoro.ai as a Software Engineer, starting in October 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Carnegie Robotics LLC as a Software Engineer from July 2015 to September 2021. During this time, they also held the role of Software Engineer - AMDS/SREHD from July 2015 to August 2016, where they developed the Operator Control Unit or GUI for the SREHD project and led the testing program for compliance with standards.

Before joining Carnegie Robotics, Brandon worked at Compunetix from February 2009 to August 2014. Brandon held the position of Embedded MCU Development Supervisor from October 2014 to July 2015, where they collaborated with stakeholders, ran project meetings, and supervised the development of product roadmaps. Brandon also served as a Software Engineer, designing and developing components for the EVERGREEN conferencing bridge and providing technical support to customers.

In addition, Brandon has experience working at Netronome as a Software Engineer from November 2007 to December 2008 and as a QA Engineer from October 2006 to November 2007. During their time there, they contributed to defect isolation, automated testing, and implemented a build framework.

Earlier in their career, Brandon worked at Guardian Solutions as a Senior Software Engineer from May 2005 to October 2006, where they maintained and developed components for the Guardian Watch product line. Brandon also held the role of QA Engineer / Field Software Engineer from August 2004 to May 2005, configuring systems and troubleshooting customer issues.

Brandon's career began at the National Robotics Engineering Center, NREC, where they worked as a Teaching Assistant from May 2001 to August 2001.

Brandon Rioja began their education at Burrell High School, where they attended from 1995 to 1999. After completing high school, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Engineering at Penn State University, where they studied from 1999 to 2003. Following their undergraduate studies, Brandon continued their education at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) degree in Computer and Information Science from 2003 to 2004.
