Angela Burnham Whorton, M.Ed. has a wealth of experience in the education and nonprofit sectors. Angela began their career in 2004 as an English Second Language Teacher at Ozel Darussafaka Cemiyette in Istanbul, Turkey. In 2006, they became the Director of the Akron Urban League Enrichment, where they conducted site visits and monitored grant status. From 2008 to 2011, they worked as an Intervention Specialist at Akron Public Schools. In 2011, they became a Math Teacher at Richardson Elementary School in the Cuyahoga Falls City Schools and an Intervention Specialist at Cuyahoga Falls High School. From 2013 to 2019, they were a Behavior Coach and Intervention Specialist at LeBron James' I Promise School in Akron Public Schools. In 2016, they became a Fundraiser and Life Skills Coach at The First Tee of Greater Akron. From 2010 to 2022, they were the Chief Experience Officer and Co Director of the Growing Patch Childcare Center. In 2019, they became a Board Member at Akron Children's Museum. In 2022, they became a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Consultant at Thoth Solutions and a Board Member and Breast Cancer Survivorship Coach at Stewart's Caring Place: Cancer Wellness Center.

Angela Burnham Whorton, M.Ed. has a diverse education history. In 2011, they earned a Postgraduate Degree in Special Education and Teaching from The University of Akron. In 2003, they earned a Master of Arts in Education from Hampton University. In 2002, they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hampton University. Recently, they have taken courses in Intercultural/Multicultural and Diversity Studies from Coursera, Udemy, and Vector Solutions.
