Chris Williams

Chris Williams has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Chris currently serves as the VP of Engineering at the company Thoughtful since March 2020. Prior to this, they worked at Amazon Web Services (AWS) where they held multiple roles including DevOps and Innovation Practice Manager from May 2021 to August 2021, Senior Innovation Architect from September 2020 to May 2021, and Senior Cloud Architect from January 2019 to September 2020.

Before joining AWS, Chris worked at Magic Leap as a Senior Manager from December 2016 to December 2018. In this role, they were responsible for leading solution architecture, SAP Basis administration, application development, infrastructure, and security work threads for an S/4HANA solution designed for the high tech industry. Chris also led application development efforts and facilitated security role mapping and build for SoX compliance.

Prior to their role at Magic Leap, Chris worked at Deloitte as a Manager from February 2008 to December 2016. Chris specialized in Technology Strategy and Architecture consulting, focusing on Package Infrastructure Services for large-scale ERP implementations. Chris had expertise in designing, building, deploying, and maintaining SAP landscapes with various database platforms.

Chris started their career as a BI&T Intern at Devon Energy in May 2007, gaining valuable experience in the field.

Chris Williams attended Texas A&M University from 2003 to 2007, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Industrial Distribution. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Robocorp AutomationOps Analyst, Robocorp Automation Developer Level II, and Robocorp Automation Developer Level I from Robocorp. Chris also holds certifications in various areas from Amazon Web Services (AWS), such as AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Developer - Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, and AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate. Furthermore, Chris has the CIPT certification from IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals and the COBIT certification from ISACA. Chris is also a HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate and holds the ITIL v3 certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice.
