John Spens has extensive experience in data modernization and technology leadership, currently serving as VP of Data Modernization and Managing Director of the NA Data & AI Service Line at Thoughtworks since March 2017. Spens has successfully built a data engineering and AI practice, expanding the North American team to over fifty professionals. Previous roles at Thoughtworks include Director of the NA Strategic Solutions Team, where Spens led efforts to close significant multi-year contracts and build solution architect teams. Spens also held various leadership positions at Huge, Claritas, Hyperion Software, CNS Group, Deloitte & Touche, and Towers Perrin. An expert in Agile practices, organizational transformation, and strategic consulting, Spens holds a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from Marist University.
