Steve Upton

Steve Upton is a seasoned quality assurance professional with extensive experience in software testing and development. Currently serving as Principal QA Consultant and previously as Lead QA Consultant at Thoughtworks since October 2018, Steve has a strong background in leading QA teams and ensuring software quality. As a Lecturer at Data Science Retreat from October 2016 to June 2020, Steve coached data scientists on Software Testing and Microservices. Prior roles include QA Lead at HERE, where responsibilities included technical leadership for QA teams, and various positions at IBM from 2010 to 2016, focusing on testing frameworks and product integration for notable products like MQ Light and WebSphere MQ. Steve began career with internships that provided foundational experience in exploratory testing and business solutions. Educational qualifications include a BSc in Computer Science from Cardiff University and a BSc in Open Degree from The Open University.
