Ahmed Elsaharti began their work experience in 2012 as a Freelance graphic designer & animator for their own business. In 2012, they also worked as a Hired Designer/Animator for GUC - EgyBiotech Club, where their responsibilities included designing posters, flyers, logos, and animating promotional recruitment videos.
In 2015, Ahmed worked as a Mechanical Engineering Trainee at Wärtsilä for a short period.
From 2017 to 2019, they worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.
From 2019 to 2021, Ahmed worked at the University of North Dakota. They were a Graduate Research Assistant, where they developed a testbed for autonomous UAV systems using Microsoft's AirSim simulator and Unreal gaming engine, created Python-based UAV wind farm inspection routine simulations, and integrated ROS with AirSim to build an autonomy framework. Additionally, they also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant during the same period.
Currently, Ahmed Elsaharti is working at Thread as a Flight Software Engineer, where they started in August 2021.
Ahmed Elsaharti began their education at Rosary School in Sharjah from 2001 to 2007. Ahmed then attended The Westminster School in Dubai from 2007 to 2012, where they completed their IGCSE and AS Level qualifications. Ahmed continued their studies at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, earning a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from 2012 to 2017. Currently, they are pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of North Dakota, expected to be completed in 2023.
