Taryn Deaton

Taryn Deaton is an experienced fundraising and development professional with a strong background in nonprofit management. Currently serving as Executive Principal at Thread Strategies since September 2019, Taryn focuses on enhancing the effectiveness of fundraising for small nonprofits. Prior to this role, Taryn spent seven years at the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty, where responsibilities included serving as Senior Director of Development and Strategy, managing fundraising efforts, and guiding strategic initiatives. Taryn's earlier experience includes positions at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Columbia University, and Texas Exes, where skills in donor development, alumni relations, and program management were cultivated. Taryn holds a Master of Theological Studies from Palmer Theological Seminary at Eastern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, cum laude, from Southwestern University.
