Alex W.

Alex W. has extensive experience in the field of cybersecurity, beginning with their role as an X-Force Research Engineer at ISS in 2004. Alex went on to work in several senior management positions, including as a Sr. Manager InfoSec at BCBS where they built and managed an incident response team and vulnerability assessment team. Alex also held roles at companies such as TippingPoint, where they served as the Manager of Security Research, and Apple, where they were a Sr. Engineer responsible for security audits and automation of critical security functions. Alex W. also worked at Accuvant, now Optiv, as the Senior Director of Research and Development, overseeing applied research, vulnerability research, and product evaluation, and was the CTO at Exodus Intelligence. Currently, they are the Chief Technology Officer at ThreatOptix. Through their various roles, Alex W. has led world-class talent and pioneered new product offerings, conducting novel research across the cybersecurity landscape.

Alex W. received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1998. Alex later pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science at the University of Chicago, which they completed in 2000.
