Tomas (Tom) Byrnes

Tom Byrnes has worked in a variety of roles in the technology industry since 1987. Starting with the US Army, they worked as a Signal/Datacommunications, providing support to Division and Corps level staff and commanders in command and control exercises. In 1997, they joined Networld + Interop as a Program Committe Member, followed by roles as Vp Technology for both e-Harmon and Zero Gravity Internet Group in 2000. In 2002, they became the Director of Technology at Radware, and in 2004 they were a Consultant at Breach Security. In 2006, they were appointed Chief Technology Officer at DISS/Threatstop. In 2009, they became the CEO and Founder of ThreatSTOP, Inc., and in 2010 they were Co-Chair of the Security Metrics Working Group at Securing our eCity. Additionally, they have been a Consultant at ByrneIT since 1998, consulting to technology companies, venture capitalists, and companies using technology strategically.

Tom Byrnes began their educational journey at Blackrock College, where they completed their Leaving Cert (High School) from 1979 to 1984. Tomas (Tom) then attended Providence College from 1984 to 1986, studying Pre-Engineering. Finally, they attended Northeastern University from 1987 to 1988, studying Electrical and Computer Engineering.
