Shilla Kim-Parker is the CEO and co-founder of Thrilling.
Shilla founded Thrilling as a vehicle to make vintage shopping more modern, accessible, and popular with the average consumer. Shilla’s mission to disrupt the fashion industry is driven by environmental concerns: new apparel production consumes enormous levels of natural resources and is a leading contributor to pollution around the world. She is also passionate about supporting the viability of local, small businesses. Her grandparents owned and operated a dry cleaner for 50 years in North Carolina – the first Black-owned business in their town.
Shilla is a Harvard College and Harvard Business School graduate who started her career as an investment banking analyst at JPMorgan. She then led the Strategy and Business Development group at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, where she helped launch new business verticals including fashion, restaurants, publishing, visual arts, and consulting. Most recently, Shilla served as Chief of Staff for Disney’s Television Group.
