Aaliya Yaqub

Aaliya Yaqub is currently the Chief Medical Officer at Thrive Global. Prior to this, they served as the Medical Director, Enterprise and Strategic Partnerships at Carbon Health from January 2021 to December 2021. Yaqub was the Founding Medical Director at Steady Health from November 2018 to August 2021, which was acquired by Carbon Health. From February 2016 to December 2017, they were the Medical Founder at Forward where they served as the CEO of Forward’s medical group and functioned as the chief medical officer. Throughout their career, Yaqub has been heavily involved in recruiting the medical team including doctors, nurses, medical assistants and NPs. Aaliya has also worked closely with the engineering team to develop in house electronic medical record and other related software. In addition, Yaqub has been involved in sales, marketing and press upon launch of various services.

Aaliya Yaqub is a medical doctor who has completed a residency in internal medicine, with additional fellowship training in dermatology and autoimmune disease, at Stanford University School of Medicine. Aaliya also holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BS) from Rice University in English Language and Literature and Biology with an emphasis in Biochemistry, respectively. Aaliya is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).

Aaliya Yaqub reports to Arianna Huffington, Founder & CEO. They are on a team with Joey Hubbard - Chief Training Officer, Danielle Trubow - Chief of Staff, and Matt Sorenson - VP of Partnerships.
