Jon Choi

Jon (Jongho) Choi is a seasoned investment professional with extensive experience in investment research, market insights, and portfolio management. Currently serving as the Director of Investment Operations at Thrivent since July 2021, Choi has previously held roles as a Financial Advisor focusing on strategic wealth planning at both Thrivent and Morgan Stanley. Other notable positions include Quantitative Risk Analyst at Balyasny Asset Management L.P. and Quantitative Researcher at Citadel LLC, where expertise in risk management and analytics was developed. Choi began a career in finance at DTE Energy as an Analyst, after serving as a Senior Analyst at Aquila. Additionally, an academic background includes lecturing in Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holding a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the same institution, complemented by MS and BS degrees in Mathematics from Hanyang University.
