Teresa J. Rasmussen

Teresa (Terry) Rasmussen is president and chief executive officer of Thrivent. She is also a member of the Board of Directors. Rasmussen was president of Thrivent’s core fraternal business from 2015 to 2018 after serving 10 years as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. Before joining Thrivent in 2005, Rasmussen served in progressively responsible legal positions with American Express and Ameriprise Financial. She began her legal career in 1984 as part of the U.S. Attorney General’s Honors Program, where she was a trial attorney in the tax division of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.
