Dr. Philipia Hillman has a diverse work experience spanning from 2004 to the present. Dr. Philipia is the Founder of The October Group since 2018. Dr. Philipia has held various leadership roles such as Vice President of Leadership & Transformation at THRUUE since 2020, Vice President of Culture & Engagement at General Dynamics Information Technology from 2018 to 2018, and Vice President of Culture and Engagement at CSRA Inc from 2016 to 2018. Before that, they worked as the Director of Leadership & Organizational Development at SRA International from 2013 to 2016. Prior to that, they were a Principal at Touchstone Consulting Group from 2004 to 2013, where they worked on various projects involving communication strategy, organizational cultural change, and leadership development.

Dr. Philipia Hillman holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Sociology from American University, which they obtained in 1999. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Sociology from the same institution in 1993. Dr. Philipia completed their undergraduate studies at Howard University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Journalism in 1989. Dr. Hillman has also obtained additional certifications, including Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF) from the International Association of Facilitators (IAF) in 2007, and Organizational Development from Georgetown University in 2004. Dr. Philipia is also a Professional Certified Coach (PCC), with their certification obtained from George Mason University.
