Danie Bierman

Danie Bierman is an experienced mining professional with a comprehensive background in strata control and project management. Currently serving as a Strata Control Officer at Thungela since April 2021, Danie has previously held positions as Site Project Manager at GR Mining from 2018 to July 2022, and Strata Control Specialist at South32 from January 2009 to April 2017, focusing on compliance with design criteria and mine stability. Earlier roles include Strata Control Officer at Douglas Colliery and Miner/Shift Boss, where responsibilities encompassed coal production operations and adherence to mine design plans. Danie's career began at Sasol as a Production Miner from 1997 to 2000. Danie holds a Certificate in Strata Control (Coal) and Rock Mechanics from the South African Chamber of Mines, along with a Mine Overseers Certificate of Competency in Coal Mining from the Department of Mineral Resources South Africa.
