Andreas Thurner

Designer, Founder & President at THURNER DESIGN

ANDREAS THURNER graduated from the University of Design Pforzheim, Germany in 2004.

Sponsored by BMW Advanced Design, Andreas based his final theses, and interpretation of a future BMW 7 Series, on interviews he conducted with BMW Designers of the 70s. Andreas draws inspiration from these interviews to this day.

In 2004, Andreas joined Rolls-Royce Motorcars where he designed the Rolls-Royce Ghost and Ghost SII, the Rolls-Royce Dawn, Rolls-Royce Phantom SII (Sedan, Convertible and Coupe), and co-designed and led the Rolls-Royce Wraith production development.

The Rolls-Royce Ghost was awarded by Red Dot in 2010 as "Best of the Best - for the Very Highest Level of Design". It is the most successful Rolls-Royce ever built. The Dawn was named by Robb Report the "Sexiest Rolls-Royce ever built".

In 2013, Andreas was appointed as Team Leader Advanced and Innovation Design at the BMW Group, being responsible for future concept design- and innovation developments for BMW, BMWi, MINI and Rolls-Royce Motorcars.

In 2016 Andreas and his family moved to California to join an innovative electric vehicle Start-Up. In 2019, Andreas was appointed as Vice President of Global Design and Architecture at Karma Automotive, where he was responsible for the concept and design development of the EV Hypercar SC2, which was awarded by Robb Report as: "Best of the Best - Concept Car of the Year 2020"

In 2020, Andreas and his wife, Annette, a designer and artist, founded Thurner Design in California, an innovative pinnacle branding, design, and development house with global operations and clients.
