Melinda Avila-Torio, NCIDQ, RID, CHID, CASP, LEED AP, is an Associate Principal and Senior Interior Designer at THW Design, where involvement spans research and development for Senior Lifestyle Communities, focusing on culture change, wellness components, and the aging population's demographic movement since November 1999. Previously, Melinda served as an Interior Designer and Project Manager at Smallwood Reynolds Stewart Stewart Interiors, overseeing large commercial renovations linked to bank mergers from September 1997 to October 1999. Prior experience includes project management roles at HBA Architecture & Interior Design, Inc., and CMSS Architects, PC, where activities ranged from managing GSA and educational client projects to comprehensive services for medical and commercial sectors. Melinda holds a B.S. in Interior Design and an M.S. in Architecture, Product Research and Design from Virginia Tech.
