Stefano Goria

Stefano Goria has held a variety of roles in the financial industry since 2012. Stefano began their career as a Quantitative Analyst at FINCAD, where they worked in Professional Services and R&D projects. In 2014, they joined Citi as a Quantitative Analyst on the Front Office Credit team, supporting the CLO trading desk in London. From 2016 to 2020, they worked at J.P. Morgan as a VP, Quantitative Research, heading the QR SPG EMEA team and implementing models and infrastructure for a fully autonomous market making agent. In 2020, they also joined Entrepreneur First as an EF LD14 Cohort Member and became CTO & Co-Founder of thymia.

Stefano Goria has an extensive educational history. Stefano obtained a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Università degli Studi di Torino in 2006. Stefano then went on to earn a Master of Science in Elementary Particle Physics from the same university in 2008. In 2012, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Theoretical Particle Physics from Università degli Studi di Torino. Additionally, they have obtained numerous certifications from Coursera, including Introduction to Machine Learning in Production (2022), Custom Models, Layers, and Loss Functions with TensorFlow (2020), Custom and Distributed Training with TensorFlow (2020), Graph Search, Shortest Paths, and Data Structures (2019), Divide and Conquer, Sorting and Searching, and Randomized Algorithms (2018), Convolutional Neural Networks (2017), Structuring Machine Learning Projects (2017), Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization (2017), Neural Networks and Deep Learning (2017), Probabilistic Graphical Models 2: Inference (2017), Probabilistic Graphical Models 1: Representation (2017), and Big Data Analysis with Scala and Spark (2017).
