Ilie Popa

Ilie Popa is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in operations and production management within the manufacturing sector. Currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at thyssenkrupp Bilstein Sibiu since January 2019, Ilie has held various leadership roles including Head of Operations, Unit Production Manager, and Prototype Projects Coordinator. Responsibilities include cost estimation and control, project coordination, and process monitoring across multiple facets of production. Prior experience includes roles as CMM Production Engineer at Cosworth, Process Engineer at Meggitt PLC, and R&D Engineer at SIRFIT SRL, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and technical documentation development. Ilie holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and a Bachelor’s in Transport, Storage, and Distribution of Hydrocarbons from “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu.
