Axel Hamann is a seasoned financial executive with extensive experience in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. Currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer at thyssenkrupp since May 2025, Axel previously held prominent roles at Bayer, including Head of M&A and Head of Internal Audit & Risk Management from January 2023 to April 2025, and CFO of Bayer Pharmaceuticals, where leading a significant restructuring initiative aimed at achieving €1.4 billion in savings was a notable accomplishment. Axel's diverse background also includes leadership in Bayer Business Consulting and overseeing major transactions, such as the public takeover of Schering AG in 2006.
