Christian Berneis

Christian Berneis started their career as an associate at HAARMANN Partnerschaftsgesellschaft in 2007 and later worked as an associate at Bird & Bird in 2008 and HPL Plewka & Coll. LLP in 2009. In 2010, they worked as a Legal Counsel at M+W Group before becoming a freelancer at MNT Revision und Treuhand GmbH from 2011 to 2012. From 2010 to 2014, Christian worked as a self-employed Rechtsanwalt. Christian then joined Muehlhan as the General Counsel, Head of Global Legal & Human Resources, and Prokurist from 2014 to 2019. Christian also served as the Co-Geschäftsführer at Beschichtungswerk Wyhlen GmbH - Muehlhan Group from 2017 to 2018. Christian later became the Head of Legal & Compliance at Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze SE from January 2020 to October 2022. Currently, Christian is the Head of Legal & Compliance at thyssenkrupp starting from November 2022.

Christian Berneis obtained a Master of Laws - LLM degree from Stellenbosch University in 2005. In 2018, they received a Compliance Officer certification from BeckAkademie. Christian also studied at Universität Greifswald, where they completed their Erstes juristisches Staatsexamen, specializing in Recht.
