Maria S.

Maria S. has a wealth of experience in product management, game development, web development, and psychotherapy. Maria began their career in 2007 as a Psychotherapist/Assistant to Director at the Queens County Neuropsychiatric Institute, where they provided psychotherapeutic services and managed NYC Office Of Mental Health projects and research tools. In 2012, they were an Intern Student Outcomes at General Assemb.ly, where they spearheaded the effort for their first-time entry of student participation at the FinTech Hackathon. In 2013, they were a student at General Assemb.ly's Web Development Immersive program, where they worked on projects such as Mechanical Bird and Perf Surf. In 2014, they were a Web Developer at Cir.cl, a contract position working on their MEAN stack. Maria was also a Game Developer and Server Developer at Dog On A Horse, where they developed database-driven web and mobile applications and designed and built games. In 2017, they were a Product Owner and Producer at Quidd Inc, where they worked with the best names in entertainment, including Disney, Marvel, Hasbro, Rick And Morty, and more. In 2018, they were a Product Owner at Tibles, where they worked with the founder to create the company white paper, roadmap, epics, and vision. In 2019, they were a Digital Product Owner at Silverstein Properties, Inc., where they produced the tenant amenity mobile app that served 8 commercial properties and +50k users. Finally, in 2021, they began their current role as Product Manager at Tibles.

Maria S. has a diverse educational background. In 2012, they completed the User Acquisition Marketing Program at General Assembly. Maria also obtained an Amateur Radio Technician Class certification from the FCC in February 2012. In 2013, Maria completed the Full Stack Web Development Immersive program at General Assembly, the Road To Code program at Fullstack Academy, and the Computer Graphics Adobe Illustrator program at Noble Desktop. In 2014, they obtained a M101P Mongodb for Developers certification from MongoDB. In 2015, Maria completed the Unity 3D program at Playcrafting. Maria also holds a MFA from Yale University in Fine Arts, a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in Painting/Printmaking, and a MSW from New York University in Clinical Social Work. Additionally, Maria has obtained certifications in Intro to Rails from thoughtbot, One Month Innovation from Accredible, One Month Product Management from Accredible, and One Month Rails from The Front Labs.
