Shashika Gunawardana's work experience begins in 2010 when they worked as an Associate QA Engineer at Zone24x7, where they were responsible for quality assurance on a project called Alpha Viscam 2. Shashika conducted research on performance testing and performed load tests using Apache JMeter.
In 2010, they also worked as a QA Engineer at DirectFN, specifically on the DirectFN-Pro 9.5 project. Their role involved quality assurance for the client-server-based real-time market information dissemination and trade solution.
In 2011, Shashika joined Pearson eCollege as a QA Engineer. Shashika represented the Mahaweli QE team on an onsite requirement gathering visit to the USA and was responsible for test automation using C#/Selenium automation framework. Shashika also scripted and executed load runner performance tests.
Shashika continued their journey at Pearson eCollege and transitioned to the role of Senior Quality Engineer in 2013. Shashika managed the Storefronts project transition from the USA to Sri Lanka and trained the Sri Lankan team on the new domain until 2015.
Moving forward, they joined Pearson in 2015 as an Associate Lead-Software Quality Engineering. In this role, they were responsible for managing the Storefronts quality engineering team, including monthly releases, test planning, test automation, and test strategy preparation.
In 2017, they were promoted to Lead-Software Quality Engineering, where they continued to oversee the Storefronts project. Their responsibilities also included test designing and delivery management.
In 2019, Shashika took on the role of Senior Lead-Software Quality Engineering, where they had overall responsibility for the engagement domain and acceptance of Pearson's Global Learning Platform (GLP). Shashika oversaw and monitored the Quality Engineering efforts of 6 vendor teams in Noida, India.
From 2020 to 2021, they served as an Associate Manager-Quality Engineering at Wiley. In this role, they were responsible for handling the Quality Engineering team and overseeing their efforts.
In 2021, Shashika was promoted to Quality Engineering Manager at Wiley, where they continued to manage the Quality Engineering team.
Most recently, in 2022, they joined Tic:Toc as a Software Quality Engineer.
Shashika Gunawardana's education history includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Colombo, which was obtained from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology (BICT) degree from the University of Colombo, from 2007 to 2010. Their earlier education includes attending Kingswood College Kandy from 1996 to 2004, where they studied science. In addition to their formal education, Shashika has obtained various certifications, such as "Leading Productive Meetings" and "Make the Move from Individual Contributor to Manager" from LinkedIn in 2021, "Selenium Web Driver With Java" and "Java Programming" from TestAutomationU in 2021, "Power BI: Dashboards for Beginners," "Software Testing Foundations: Continuous Testing and DevOps," "Agile Testing," and "ISTQB Certified Tester" from LinkedIn, "Web Element Locator Strategies" and "IntelliJ for Test Automation" from TestAutomationU, and "Sun Certified Java Programmer" from Sun MicroSystems in 2009.
