Anthony also worked at an insect farming start-up as the Product Development & Regulatory Affairs Lead, where they managed projects and represented the industry at a summit. Anthony's experience includes working as a Senior Research Biologist at Bayer Crop Science, collaborating on ecological risk assessments. Anthony also worked at the Saint Louis Science Center as a Content Expert and at Multisport Partners, LLC as a Product Manager. Additionally, they gained research experience as a Senior Research Specialist at Virginia Tech Transportation Institute and as a Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Tech. Anthony started their career as a Biological Science Technician at the US Department of Agriculture, conducting field studies and collaborating with growers. Before that, Anthony founded and managed an environmental science curriculum at TapRoots. Overall, Anthony has a strong background in environmental science, research, and strategic advising.

Anthony D. attended Northern Virginia Community College from 2006 to 2009 and obtained an Associates of Science degree in Social Science. Anthony then transferred to the University of Maryland, where they studied Environmental Science: Soil Water and Land Resources and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2013.

In 2014, Anthony D. enrolled at Virginia Tech for a Master's of Science degree in Entomology, which they completed in 2018.
