Muhammad Zulfaqar Azmi

Muhammad Zulfaqar Azmi has a strong background in software engineering, research, and project management. Muhammad Zulfaqar is currently working as a Software Engineer at TIER IV, where they focus on improving the behavior path planner module of the Planning Component in Autoware. Muhammad Zulfaqar also maintains Autoware's lane change module code and contributes to design documentation and unit testing for planning scenarios.

Prior to their current role, Muhammad worked as a Researcher PHD Student at Shibaura Institute of Technology. There, they were involved in the development of a Senior Car Project, where they planned the system design architecture and integrated hardware and software using Robot Operating System and Arduino. Muhammad Zulfaqar primarily used C++ as the backend development language.

Muhammad also has experience as a Senior Engineer at Moovita Pte Ltd, where they contributed to the development of autonomous vehicles by investigating Simultaneous Localization and Mapping System (SLAM) algorithms and performing sensor calibration, mapping, and tuning.

Furthermore, Muhammad worked as a Master Postgraduate Researcher at the Malaysia Japan International Institute of Technology, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, where their research focused on human driving behavior, machine learning, and collision avoidance. Earlier in their career, Muhammad worked as a Design Engineer at Sony EMCS (M) Sdn Bhd, where they coordinated between in-house engineering and overseas software vendors.
