Shinpei Kato

Shinpei Kato has extensive work experience in various research and academic positions. Shinpei is currently serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at The Autoware Foundation since December 2018. Prior to that, they founded TIER IV in December 2015. Shinpei has also worked as an Associate Professor at The University of Tokyo since April 2016 and at Nagoya University from April 2012 to April 2016. Additionally, they have held postdoctoral research positions at UC Santa Cruz from 2011 to 2012, Carnegie Mellon University from September 2009 to June 2011, and The University of Tokyo from April 2009 to June 2011.

Shinpei Kato pursued their education at Keio University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, graduating in 2004. Shinpei continued their studies at the same university and completed a Ph.D. in Engineering in 2008.
