Antonio A. has an extensive work experience spanning from 1996 to 2020. Antonio started their career as a Senior Geoscientist at Placer Dome Exploration, Inc. in 1996 and then moved to Newmont Mining Corp. in 2006 as a Sr. Manager, Geosciences and Manager, Generative Exploration. In 2012, they joined BHP as Vice President Geosciences, Minerals Exploration. Antonio then worked as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan in 2014 and an Adjunct Professor at James Cook University in the same year. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Director at Auryn Resources and a Professor at Akita University. In 2020, they became a Director at Tier One Silver and Coppernico Metals, and a Professor, Kenneth F. and Patricia Clark Distinguished Chair, Department of Geological Sciences at The University of Texas at El Paso.
Antonio A. completed their PhD in Geology/Earth Science, General from the University of Michigan in 1992. Prior to that, they obtained a BA and MSc in Geology/Earth Science, General from the University of Salamanca between 1976 and 1982.
