Brenda Cruz

Brenda Cruz is an Associate Scientist at Tierra Biosciences since January 2019, with a strong background in molecular biology and research. Prior experience includes serving as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the National Science Foundation REU at UC Berkeley, focusing on the regulatory function of introns in wnt16 genes in leeches, and as a Student Research Assistant in the Weisblat Lab at UC Berkeley, where molecular biology techniques such as PCR and gene cloning were implemented. Brenda also held the position of Student Director for BUILD Literacy, enhancing literacy skills among elementary students, and worked as an Undergraduate Assistant at Biosciences Divisional Services. Brenda earned a Bachelor of Arts in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2018.
